Exclusive: Bestival Secret Acts Revealed

06 September 2008
Since the 30,000 revellers began flooding to the Isle Of Wight's Robin Hill site on Thursday, the festival has experienced intense rain to rival the worst of Glastonbury. Yet the event's famous party spirit remains well and truly alight.
In spite of a leaking main stage roof, Friday's lineup saw Foals proved as one of the highlights, altering the words of 'Two Steps, Twice' to "Bestival learn how swim" as the heavens opened.
Pendulum picked up the pace with a ferocious drum 'n' bass set before My Bloody Valentine dropped their dark wall-of-sound on the upbeat Isle of Wight, in one of the bravest and unlikely headline bookings since Jay-Z at Glasto. It worked.
Black Kids and CSS were among the other highlights, the only blight of the day being the thick and sludgy mud which has covered the site following days of rain. A number of injuries have been reported, mainly twisted and broken ankles, however the party is still in full flow.
Bestival continues tonight (Saturday) and Sunday. Stay posted for more news updates as well as full reviews, videos and photo galleries.
