Neil Young plays classic songs at Hop Farm
United Kingdom | |
07 July 2008
The veteran folk star ended his set with a rendition of 'A Day Day's Life' after he'd touched on all corners
of his career by performing hits like 'Oh Lonesome Man', 'Love And Only Love', 'Heart Of Gold' and
'Fuckin' Up'.
Young played for a staggering two hours at the festival, which marked
the festival return for ex-Mean Fiddle boss Vince Power, who was unable to involve himself in UK festivals
for the last three years, following his sale of the company to Live Nation.
Primal Scream debuted four new tracks from their forthcoming album 'Beautiful Future' including
up coming single 'Can't Go Back' as well as treating the 30,000 festival-goers to hits 'Rocks', 'Swastika
Eyes' and 'Movin' On Up'.
Supergrass
had time to throw a few show-stoppers into their set including 'Richard III' and 'Caught By The Fuzz', while
Laura Marling performed an note-perfect afternoon slot.
Rufus Wainwright, My Morning Jacket,
Guillemots and Carbon/Silicon
also played at the one-day festival which is thought to be returning next year.
