Simple Minds for Ashton Court

| 06 June 2006

The historic festival takes place at  Ashton Court, Bristol, on 22-23 July.

Each year the two-day event raises thousands for local charities, with children's hospice the Jessie May Trust set to benefit this year.

With an entry fee of just £7, it remains one of the best value-for-money live music events in the UK (under 14s go free).

Festival organiser, Steve Hunt, said: “We have been incredibly lucky to book one of Britain’s biggest and most established rock acts to play at the festival this year. Simple Minds have been around for almost 30 years and have had some massive hits. Over the years, the festival has had some pretty big and diverse acts, and Simple Minds definitely rank alongside any others. We are very excited about an act this size playing at the festival.”

More acts will be announced at the end of June but you can buy tickets now from Bristol Ticket Shop – www.bristolticketshop.co.uk or the Colston Hall- www.colstonhall.org.
